		<description>Yeah, I suppose that is also a good metaphor.  After thinking about it there are a few places it doesn't work though.  All too often therapists don't or can't help thier petients solve thier problems, or visiting the therapist becomes a chronic long term activity.  I'm not sure these are quite what designers shoot for.

Of course, sometimes doctors accidentally kill patients--so there are some inocngruities with this metaphor too.

For the medical metaphor it has the "feature" that the healing process is a collaborative one (rather than the physician, who operates on the patient as an object); the theraphist and the patient together create something that did not exist before.
